Connected Without Connections

Our Author – Richard L. Toney, provides an introspective thought for the day while making the rounds for His latest offering.

We’re joined at the hip you and I. Connected as it were in a world that preaches rugged individuality.

At times today especially we’re told to look after our own interests. Consider me before we and then me over we and then me. Everyone gets offended at the slightest challenge without viewing the opposition, more specifically, the opposing view because it’s all about protecting me. The me first priority – me first attitude we all want to be connected without actually making a connection. What that means is we want and teach a connected world with a me first focus because that’s what has trickled down from the wealth of having it all. Having access to it all on your level.

No longer or little do we strive for “riches” or “wealth” now the hunt is for fame and recognition. I want my 15 minutes. I want my time in the spotlight – no matter the costs. It’s the me first instead of the we whenever. And that’s why there’s a struggle to connect between real people and fake personas, fake personas and imaginary possibilities of beings. that’s why there is such a disconnect between people. We went from playing a role to playing ourselves to guard what’s mine and take what’s yours without giving any ground. We pulled apart when we should have been pulling together, pretended to be pulling together but really pursuing our on self interests. There’s a challenge in there somewhere.

Actually there’s a challenge to ourselves and as a people. Many are waking to this challenge but there’s still miles to go. Come Together! Find -identify what makes you special and find like minded special people and Come Together! Even though we’re in the mist of crisis (pandemic) come together, get together, pull together and we can get this thing – Life – back on course.
